Difficulty (p-value)
- 0.40 - 0.60: Moderate (Optimal)
- 0.60 - 0.80: Easy (Acceptable)
- 0.20 - 0.40: Difficult (Acceptable)
- < 0.20 or > 0.80: Needs Revision
Discrimination (r_pb)
- ≥ 0.40: Excellent
- 0.30 - 0.39: Good
- 0.20 - 0.29: Fair (Needs Improvement)
- < 0.20: Poor (Needs Revision)
- < 0.00: Negative (Reject)
Important Notes
Items with negative discrimination (rpb < 0) indicate that high-scoring students answered incorrectly more often than low-scoring students. The answer key should be verified or the item should be revised.
